Team coaching is about achieving the company’s goals, developing the management team, and enjoying the process.

Team coaching consists of one or several sessions.

Session purpose

The main purpose of a team coaching session is to develop the best solutions and achieve real agreement on the issues that are of most importance for the organization.

Our clients can set different objectives for sessions, such as:

  • Develop a new strategy or adjust an existing one to meet market changes
  • Open a new business line or win a new market
  • Identify lines of development and focus areas for the next year in accordance with the strategy
  • Develop a coordinated plan to achieve specific targets for the year
  • Ensure that the company remains united and cohesive in the context of rapid growth and/or regional expansion
  • Create and implement effective mission, vision and value statements

Session participants

Team coaching sessions are usually attended by company leaders and top managers. In some cases, we deliver sessions for project teams or individual departments. These are attended by their key employees and/or managers of these departments.

Benefits of team coaching

A coaching session can solve 3 types of tasks at the same time, which helps produce a synergistic effect.

Type 1: Setting goals, making decisions and planning action. The maximum effect is achieved by means of high-quality facilitation by an experienced moderator and professional techniques for managing group and individual work.

Type 2: Team building and creating a corporate culture. The maximum effect is achieved by ensuring that the team works on real rather than fictional or abstract issues. Agreements achieved in this context are consistently implemented in real practices in the company.

Type 3: Teaching new management skills and tools. In a session, participants are highly motivated to get new knowledge and skills, because they use them to solve real problems of the company here and now. Moreover, participants actively share best practices when looking for important solutions and discussing real problems.

Format

Each session requires appropriate preparation and high-quality processing of outcomes. A team coaching session usually involves 4 steps:

Step 1: Two or three individual meetings (60 to 90 minutes each) with the company management to set goals, identify limitations and development areas 

Step 2: Individual interviews with key team members (30 to 40 minutes each)

Step 3: A group team coaching session (2 days, 8 hours each)

Step 4: A summary session (90 minutes) with the company management to discuss the project outcomes (within 10 days after the end of the 2-day organizational development session) 
 

Session outcomes

Outputs:
  • Identified priorities and a tree of goals
  • Results of analytical work in the form of schemes, descriptions, conclusions and solutions
  • Strengths and weakness of the team and organization, and an approved assessment
  • Completed documents, such as a list of strategic initiatives, mission, vision and value statements, manager’s code of practice, etc
  • A list of ideas: what can and should be done on key issues
  • Teams (project teams) that will continue to work on the goals identified
Team:
  • Consensus on controversial issues
  • Exchange of information, experience and best practices
  • Goals of individual team and organization members bound together
  • Team members’ understanding of their role, areas of responsibility and powers
  • Identified development areas for both individual members and the team as a whole
  • Motivation to achieve goals
